Repairing Diesal Engines

Ok, for the first time I decided to start in Brisbane, but I only get the choice of the S18 or 42 with no AA. So I try to reach my objective but I get a japanese torp bomber every few minutes.

Well one of them hit me pretty badly and took out my diesel engines. I waited until they were repaired and set the engines to full speed. Nothing happened. Once the engines are broken is that it ?

oh and one last thing. I'm fairly new and I'd like to know whats the best sub to start with.

Best guess

If your diesel engines are destroyed, usually happens in twos.My crew has not been able to repair. You may be able to maneuver on battery's,if propeller shaft is OK.If the bar to the right is full red, mouse over,if it shows (1) I take this to mean 1 engine destroyed, not repairable. Also if you stay at Battle stations crew will not comply w/speed commands, with out rest. Secure from Battle stations. If someone has the full lid on this subject, are my observations correct ?

Yeah they both blew up in the one attack. I'm still highly interested about the best starting sub. The lack of AA really sucked for me.

Link in Sig,what year?

AA get LBO,you won't miss it.:yep:

I know what he's talking about, it happened to me. All 4 engines received damage (Gato) 2 only minimal, and the other 2 were knocked out of comission. Similar damage to the electric motors, 2 motors lightly damaged (same side as lightly damaged diesels) 2 motors Out of comission. When the port side (the light damage side) was repaired, crew rested, everything looked like it was good to go in the port propulsion plant..nothing-notta-zilch. No diesel, no electric, nothing. So I believe there is an issue there that only the dev team could fix. :(

TheVillagePeople 08-03-07 09:31 AM

Oh sorry, so many new acronyms. Yes I already have that mod but I fail to see how it would devalue Anti-Air guns (not antialiasing if you were thinking that)

AA My mistake. Dumb blond joke.

 One day two blondes walk into a perfume shop. The one blonde picks up a bottle of perfume that is titled "Viens Chez Moi."
The blonde asks the manager what it means, and the manager says it means, "Come to Me." So the blonde smells the perfume and asks her friend, "Does this smell like come to you? Because it doesn't smell like come to me."

"Notta"?

Or did you mean "nada"?

As to the question: if that's true, then it's not fair. You should be able to have only one engine damaged.

Someone posted a possible solutio to this, I don;t remember where. He said his diesels were totally destroyed, and wouldn't repair. He said he tunred battle stations off, then on again, or on, then off again. Something like that, and they fixed!

:Wishfull:hmm:

TheVillagePeople 08-03-07 11:29 AM

At the time I did attempt that, i.e redoing autorepairs, battlestations. I got the alter "diesel engines repaired" so they were suppose to be "repaired"

Any idea how this relates to broken diesel engines? For the life of me I can not figure it out.
