The Ghoul Coast & Zombie Ships?

I've been sinking ships for a week right off Cadiz. After I got 11 ships things got weird.

Reported ship icons began to appear at the sites of wrecks.
The sonar man started to report sound contacts on the wrecks
Then, the game won't give me credit for new ships sunk.

Is this a ghoulish joke? Zombie ships in the night?

Lay off the grog Brag and drink more coffee. :yep:  ;)

I believe its because you are cloce to the spawn point
As you havent left the rendering area the game see the new ships as old so you are not credited
Move along
Clear the area as any self respecting uboat would have done

Ah! Suspicions confirmed. 4 torpedoes wasted on zombies.
Thanks, BB!:88)

I prefer the zombie theory to BBW's more logical answer :yep:

Everyone knows theres such things as ghost ships

bookworm_020 07-31-07 08:58 PM

Just remeber the Zombie's are still armed! I found that out when I sank HMS Hood, only to have the Zombie Hood almost destroy me!

Must have know there was a good supply of brains on board!:D

In theory you could sink a ship anywhere in the ocean on the way to your target, and come back and come across the 'same' ship, that has respawned and doing the same route, right?

Jimbuna 08-01-07 06:29 AM

Correct :yep:

STEED 08-01-07 07:49 AM

What's the point sinking them only for them to come back? Sounds like your better off staying in bed all day then go down the pub in the evening and get mullered.  :stare:

Yep
BUT
If you are within rendering distance of the actual spawn point thats where I believe these probs occur
Ordinarily a convoy will spawn close to a port and make its way to its destination
If you sink it mid atlantic and keep tabs on the convoy the sunk ships stay sunk
Move over 50km away than come back and the sunk ships are back as before

But Steed has an interesting idea all the same :()1:

Canovaro 08-02-07 02:15 AM

So if you come across that ship again, went off 50+ km, and you sink it again, will you get renown?

I moved 200 kms. That took care of the zombies. I think 50 kms is still too close to the spawning point (in this case somewhere close to the straits of Gibraltar.)

You know you've met a zombie when the ship sinks, there is no "she's going down", no cheering, no sunk simbol on the chart and, of course, no credit.
