Interesting Find...

Off the coast of France, June-ish...42.

I found 6 Black Swans in a row...just cruising south at 18 Knots or so...

GWX user here.

Anyone know if this is a historical thing...or just random fun???

I would stay away. Black Swans are my most enemy.

You've found Capt. "Johnny" Walker and his Second Support Group! Sink him if possible and make all our lives easier!:arrgh!:

an odd find indeed, not sure of the historic value here though. stay away imo, they are low tonnage and as soon as you fire a fish at em all hell will break loose. sail in the other direction as deep and as silent as possible ( dependent on the year, available depth you have etc) its not worth the hassle.

Yep

Hunter/Killer Group. :yep:

Dive to at least 100m, silent speed and steer well clear or you're gonna be :dead:

found, engaged, sea batteled, destroyed, and have seen them go down :arrgh!:

The depth of GWX never ceases to amaze me. Many thanks as always for the gems we find in the game.

:hmm: Not in June 1942 he shouldn't have, unless Madmike got his year wrong and meant June 1943. ;)

JScones you are quite right. In 42 Walker was recuperating between the 36th Escort Group and the 2nd Support Group whcih he commanded from 43. Serves me right for posting without reading. So who are they?

@mooncatt I don't blame you I'd do the same thing.

madmike81 07-31-07 12:51 AM

no if was definately june of 42

TarJak 07-31-07 12:59 AM

then it can't have been Johnny! On anohter historical note was there any independant Anti-sub groups operating in Biscay before the 2nd Support in 1942?

bookworm_020 07-31-07 01:32 AM

Whoever they are, don't mess with them!:nope: I got caught by them on the way home from the carribean after sinking an absoulute load of tankers! It was all one sided and over very quickly!:dead::roll:

KeybdFlyer 07-31-07 03:29 AM

Would that be a Bevy of Swans then?

Well...as the RN only had five Black Swans at the beginning of June 1942 (the RIN had the other two), it *could* just be a flub in the scripting?
