Renaming Crew Members?
 

I originally posted this in the main forum, and they advised me to repost here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Surely someone must know something about this, or at least be able to direct me to a relevant thread :hmm:

Never done this but if you look in
C:\Users\WHATEVER YOU CALL IT\Documents\SH4\data\cfg\SaveGames\00000009\UPCIn itial


"00000009" being my last saved game

And open "ActiveUserPlayerUnits.UPC"
using Notepad

You will see stuff like
Its a bit tedious to go through this but I guess changing the name here will also change it in game. And dont forget to save when closing ;)

There is also a .UPC file here
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\UPCData\UPCCrewData
Called "CrewMembersNames.UPC"

Again open with Notepad and take a look...THERE ARE A LOT OF NAMES THERE!!!!!

The game uses these names and throws them around using one first name combined with one surname, and the next time you start a new career it will randomly find new names based on all the combos in that "CrewMembersNames.UPC"

I think your best bet is the 1st method I wrote to start with.
