Getting My Sea Legs (Eyes?)

Just starting out, messing around with the tutorials. I finished playing, and lo and behold, it feels like my monitor is gently rocking side-to-side, like I have virtual sea legs...I have not been drinking. Is this normal?

Do you have GWX? Early beta testers complained of motion sickness whilst playing!

Yes, I put GWX on. Should I go back to stock SH3 whilst I figure things out? Or am I best figuring it out with GWX? I saw in another thread how the ASW components are a lot tougher in GWX.

Depends on how you want to play. I'll admit, I'm new to GWX myself, but I enjoy the feeling more, because I am constantly worried about Destroyers being nearby when I go after ships (and when you patrol around England, its a very real paranoia).

Edit: To make this more on topic, I'll point out that I havent seen much in the way of extra bobbing with GWX, but I dont play with scope bobbing on.

I wish I had the authority to let you see some of them posts....it was a while back in the early beta testing phase and initially Kpt.Lehmann and a few others (myself included) thought it was just a case of 'high jinx' or elation at being the first to test such an eagerly awaited mod :hmm:
But after a good few hours in a testing session it soon became obvious the reports had some substance to them

There's no doubt that once I was done gaming it seemed like everything was swaying. I've been on boats, and I know the feeling. I do get locked in when I'm concentrating.

Edit: And thanks, everyone, for all the welcomes, looking forward to upholding the honor of the U-boat arm.

Welcome to the Subsim community Jazman. Be sure to keep away from those american boats in the SHIV section ;). May you sink many convoys and have few storms lol.

I've never come across this motion sickness thing in SHIII before lol.
