Help a n00bie :D

Sorry if this had been asked before, what is the largest available sub to command in SH4? Does it compare to ElektroBoot From SH3?

So far i've only unlocked the USS drum (Gato Class) and the thing is really slow and noisy, and the torpeedos damage is nothing compared to the Old German torpeedos. Or am i mistaken?

Any comments are appreciated.:)

The 1945 Gato is 1526tons, 95m long, max sfc spd 21knts. Currently I'm commanding a Tambor class.

The US Fleet subs in WW2 (Gato, Balao etc) were more comparable to the Type IX German subs. The US did not have anything that compared to the Type XXI. After the war the US Military was amazed at how advanced the German subs and Torpedos were compared to theirs (except for the TDC).

Of course the US subs had the advantage of actually having been used in combat, which the XXIs never were.
