[REQ] Periscope wake revisited

Hi All,

There does not appear to be any periscope wake...this was brought up quite a while ago. Any modders out ther willing to tackle?

There is a very slight wake presence when the scope is extended but not sufficent in detail to notice.

I would like to have this

Had another look at this morning, and found it. Its because its using the same "TGA" as the torp wake, never thought about looking at it, as I thought its another one. So basically by using the existing "Brighter Torp Wake Mod" made by briny norman
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...r+torpedo+wake you will also have a brighter scope wake.

I tweaked it even brighter as an alternative

JSGME ready:

Or in my mod AirTorpedoSim.7z;
Or copy and rename Wake_Back.tga file to Wake_Torp.tga file in Data\Misc\ folder ...:D

AHHHH! Good one Anvart!. Cheers!
EDIT! yea noticed that those other "TGA" wakes dont seem to be used for anything...as far as i could see at least.

My respect, Mike ...

Thanks, Mike. It seemed to not be as prominent after I used the Torpedo Wake mod and the excellent Living Breathing Ocean mod. Thanks again to all you dedicated mod makers!!

Hello CC,
Just checking, d/l ed your http://files.filefront.com/BRIGHTER+.../fileinfo.html
and tried to install, but there's no file in the texture map under Tnormal/Tex.
Is this as intended?

Oh yea  . That's from the testing (forgot to delete it) the file is in "Misc", so the mod works, and the fact that the "tex" is there has no effect on the mod. But you can delete that folder if you want.

this is because the torpedo wakes come out of the periscope, they must be using the same files or something.

next time you fire your front or aft tubes go to the free came quickly and you will see the wake start from the scope lol. this is why you see it in scope view so quickly as some have complained about.
