Stuck with same mission?
 

I keep getting the same mission over and over again, troop insertion in Philippines. Mid 1943 to dec 43... Would be nice to recieve another mission, last time i just went off the harbor and back again to get incomplete but next mission troop insertion in phillipines.. :damn:

Have you updated to 1.3?

This was a known issue before, but was specifically addressed by the devs and supposedly fixed in the latest patch.

yes, had 1.2 and went to 1.3 but i continued on my career from 1.2 might have to start a new one?

If you don't complete your objectives there is a good chance you will get the same mission again, plus you will probably be retired early.


They still need the troops there!

I have completed the mission 2 times, third attempt i just left harbor and went back to see if i would receive a new mission but got a new troop insertion mission.

This is still an issue with patch 1.3.

Need another great example?

USS Albacore, Gato Class, based out of Pearl:
Patrol 1: East China Sea
Patrol 2: East China Sea
Patrol 3: East China Sea
Patrol 4: East China Sea

All completed successfully, lost of kills each time. At this point I got so annoyed that I saved the game just before entering Pearl Harbor and then played around to see what happens.

1) Medal awarded, refused new sub, stay at Pearl, new patrol assigned.
Patrol 5: East Cina Sea - AGAIN!!! Several re-loads of saved game confirm this.

2) Two more tries: stayed at sea for another week AND another month before entering Pearl, yet again, next patrol assigned in both cases to (you guessed it): East China Sea.:cry: Several re-loads of saved game confirm this, too.

3) Alternatively, I took the new boat (Balao) and get transferred to Brisbane. No need to tell you where my next patrol zone was assigned: East China Sea. Several re-loads of saved game confirm this, again.

What am I to conclude from this??? The next mission is already coded somewhere before I even enter port?:down:

Just so I am clear on this when you say you completed your Objectives you mean the icon turned Grey?

I've had this too. Patched to 1.3 and start new career. Out of Perth: 6 patrols to Java Sea. Completed objectives each time (icon went grey) and sank ships. And those shallow water patrols are a buggar! At least I didn't have to deliver supplies to the same address over and over.

Started a new career after installing TM 1.4. Hopefully this problem will go away. If not--I'll try deleting SH4 files from My Documents. Maybe the problem is lingering in there? Hmm. Just thought of that. Others might give that a try as well...

Yes, icon turned grey and objectives were checked as completed in the message log. For all 4 missions!. Well over 10,000 tons of shipping sunk within the prescribed area each time.

Maybe I was too good and they sent me back for more because of my past success? I doubt it...

The TM 1.4 mod changes the campaign layers and makes the missions more varied.

Iwe had this bug on my last 2 careers also,and no havent figured out how to solve it.Other than starting a new:damn:...Both times all objectives where meet.

And once you completed your initial objective did you radio in a Patrol report?

I left that as an optional mod in the support directory, it is not enabled by default.

Good point, John. Many times I've been given a second assignment on the same mission.
