Close shave --Pheeeew

While trying to penetrate convoy screen at PD, got caught at close range by destroyer. On a previous occasion when this happened, I stayed at my depth, went to flank, lowering scope, steady on course. When destroyer was on top, dropping charges, began 20 degree turn to starboard.

Under these circumstances, it's impossible to avoid DCs, except when being right under the escort.

Bababoom! we took damage. While in it's baffles began dive and another 20 degree course change one we reached 40 meters ordered speed of two knots and began repairs (we had leaks in electrig motor compartments and Zentralle. When the destroyer returned, it couldn't find us (we were already at 80 meters).

This was close.

I did the same thing on a previous occasion and it also worked.

The destroyer can't zap you with its stern depth charges because the will blow his rear end up. So the best tactic is stay close to the surface and hope he goes right over you. Dive once the brute passed.

I call this, wiggle waggling out of shallow poo-poo. :88)

Another gameplay exploit. Pure and simple.

Sure, but since we're in the game, we gotta go by the game, otherwise it is fenorking time for the U-Boat (in the game).

In other words: The game fenorks the U boat if the U boat doesn't fenork along with the game.
