I cant hear ships sinking in 1.3....

Using the hydrophone, I can no longer hear any cracking going on under water.
Anyone else?

About 75% of all my sounds disappeared after installing 1.3. No more
explosions, blasts or motors. Not sure of the cause but I uninstalled the
game & reinstalled it going directly to patch 1.3. It all works fine now....

As far as I can tell, I never heard ships break up as they sank.

It seems the sounds just fade a lot faster with distance now, as far as the special effects go. Can barely hear my own sub unless the cameras in close, and can't hear explosions very well.

May have something to do with the 3D sound travel effect. I have that enabled and can hear most sounds.

Same here, no sound problems I am aware of.

Yes, You even hear the delay in sound of the explosion after a fish hits the target.

Yep noticed that to...way cool! "Sounds" like they fixed it properly.
For you guys with problems, maybe check if you have the latest drivers and what have you. Or your sound cards might not be able to run the 3D sound travel (only thinking loud) try switching it off in the settings in game.

Mechman 07-23-07 12:49 AM

I've got the latest drivers for my card, and the settings don't seem to change it. The sound just drops off fast, with diesels not being audible past a few hundred feet, even at full blast. Maybe they were just way too loud earlier and I'm not used to them being realistic.
