Air Raid or Bug??
I made the mistake of thinking I could refit at Darwin-got there and realized I couldn't-but it was getting late and I wanted to go to sleep-so I navigated into the harbor and "docked" in one of the empty berths-next to an Aussie ship.
Came to a nice stop, and saved game. Next day when I loaded game-as I was about to depart the slip-I hear a siren and Ships around me all start exploding! I couldn't see or hear any aircraft though-it seemed like they were all just exploding and sinking spontaneusly.....went to periscope depth and got the heck outta there! Do you think that was a scripted air raid? or just some kind of start up in port bug? |
i think when you load the game ships sometimes spawn on land or on the docks and explode.
when sailing into an enemy port occasionally ships are already burning because of this. |
I made the same mistake as you, PULSEOX. I was coming into Darwin to refuel early one morning when all of a sudden at least two waves of ten aircraft each came flying over Darwin pounding everything in the bay. It was pretty exciting until I realized I couldn't refuel here and did not have enough to get me back to Freemantle...

Got the same, but in pearl...
Hi
Had the same experience, but it happened in Pearl Harbour, when I was ending my second patrol...as i enter the harbour, i save the game for the night, and the next day i load the game, and all hell breaks loose... In addition, when i dock, the captains log in my "office" has still just recorded my sinkings form the first patrol, but in the "submarine aces" section, all my tonnage is mentioned... Is this a bug? Will my log just show my tonnage from patrol 2 when I end patrol 3? |
