Send weather report?
 

Now I've been playing SH3 for a long time now. And when submerged, you always have a faded "Send weather report" option with the radioman. But the second you surface, it changes to "Report Contacts". It's been bothering me for a while but i just finally decided to ask somone about it. Does anyone know anything about this?

So........none of you have it as an option? Or just havent noticed it until I brought it up?

I've seen it and on a waaaaayyyy earlier post on this board found out that Ubi devs left a bunch of unfinished bits and pieces in the distro when it went to market. this was one of them.

Basically they were going to have you do different missions including weather reporting which was a common duty for uboats. Ubi never finished the job and the greyed out button was left over. there may be some code somwhere that lets you turn it on but without an SDK we'll never really know unless someone does something that they shouldn't to the exe.

I activated the "report weather" icon, now it shows correct on the RO menu (active only on surface), but it does nothing. Guess it has no programming support in the game engine - or, put it simpler, is left unfinished.

No need to send one..........weather is always 15 knot winds, fog, etc............
