Changing Fleets

Here's the situation.

I was playing Asiatic, but have decided that I want to start a new career and play from Pearl, since there's alot of good early battles around there.

My question is will I be able to switch to the Asiatic (Brisbane, Freo, etc) after I've had my fun based at Pearl, or will it only let me go to other ports around Pearl sphere of influence (ie: Midway)

As a post-script, If i take a Submarine that is available to me from the Pearl Fleet (say a Tambor) to a theatre that doesn't have them (like Asiatic), will it let me keep it, or do I have to swap to a sub that is native to that Theatre?

...I hope all that makes as much sense in text as it did in my head :damn:

You can ask for the transfer only to the fleets that have the type of sub at that moment.

So, to go from Pearl Harbour to the Asiatic Fleet, one would assume a Salmon-class would be the best bet, since both have them.

I believe both bases carry the same subs at the start. I like the Asiatic because you get into the action faster. At any rate, as you progress you can ask for a transfer or if you are doing well you will be offered a new boat. At any rate, if you start in the Asiatic eventually you will be offered a new boat and end up at Pearl. I have yet to really say which submarine is the best as they all seem to be relatively equal. This includes the S series. Clanky things they are but still good to captain.

So far from what I've seen SH4 doesn't assign boats or transfer them to their historically accurate fleets. I have had boats that should be Asiatic but sail from Pearl with no problem.
