Install problems
 

Hopefully i'm in the proper forum for this question ? Reinstalling SH-4 with 1.3,do i use or eliminate 1.2 prior to 1.3? Right now its giving me a error,"cannot find menu 0X42170006!
HELP Please

You should be able to install over any version. 1.3 is a cumulative patch so it would just over write any existing files.

Do you have any Mods installed? If so they must be removed first.

I feel for ya mate!.... I tried several ways to install as I was getting errors and sound problems , so....I just decided to start completely from scratch.

Installed in this order...

stock SH4.....Patch 1.1.....Patch 1.2.....Patch 1.3

Then I installed compatible mods.

Also....ALWAYS defrag your hard drive prior to any install.

Result....No more errors and all is fine!

I installed SH IV, then patch 1.2 then patch 1.3 & still I get the menu error. Should I start all over ?

Yep...do a clean install.

Make sure ANY SH4 files and folders are that might remain after the un-install, are removed prior to re-installing.

Do a defrag too.

BTW.. if you have any diagnostic tools like Norton System work or similar...run it and see if your drive and registry are in good shape...could be hidden problems lurking.
