Passenger liner
 

I have just started a Campaign sailing from Costanza patrolling the Black Sea. I came across an armed passenger liner. Is this a troop transport(because it is armed) and also if I had sunk it would my renown have been affected even though the war with Russia was particularly a no holds barred affair, so to speak.

if it is a passenger liner of registry to an enemy nation, it is armed and not neutral - sink her!

passenger liners - in the game are ok to sink regardless of armament if they belong to an enemy nation.

in real life it was generally only prudent to attack them if they were under escort or if armed.

When u start off in 1939, you get a few radio messages ordering captains not to attack Liners, thats only for show, as long as they dont have a Red Cross flag flying you can sink'em.

If she's armed, treat her as you would a troop transport :arrgh!:

Man, last night in my med. campaigne i came across a small convoy. I set an intercept course and went to periscope depth. 1 black swan and 1 river class came out of the fog ( the weather was like 500 yds. visiblility heavy rains and fog). I crashed dived but i caught a glimpse of a troop transport and a Cuyuard (sp?) liner:rock:. Well an hour later i was hunted but still had merchant contact. i went to periscope depth and killed the two pursuing ships. I then surfaced and went ahead flank to catch up. i was on navigation map when ship spotted came up:D . I went to bridge and almost rammed it (liner that is) I slowed speed and it began to fire on me. I went back under the waves but lost it again in the storm. Well later i surfaced and saw it again used all remaining torpedoes to no avail:cry: . I tried radioing in the contact but the destroyers destroyed my radio. Well thats my story. I let it slip away.

You might have to get a Turbo option fitted to the Sub engine in order to catch a Passenger Liner.
Dunno if there's a Turbo Mod ? :o

Yes, sink her. The Russians used whatever they could find as troop transports. Upgrade your Flaks to C/38 Zwilling´s and sink any Russian fishingboat you come across too:rock:
