a question/query/begging to the GWX team
 

Hi team

While I am in admiration for the difficult work you all have placed into making ,y 20 dollar game, a near hobby, and worth far more, I would ask of you a question for your consideration please.

My laptop can just barely handle the needs of SHIII. When GWX is loaded,, she just dies.

I was wondering the possiblity of a GWX lite, or better stated, GWX ships pack?

Just the new ships basically

Being a novice at this I am sure I am missing a lot of the big picture in the making of GWX, so try not to laugh too hard at this querry.

I believe that they have reduced the campaign layers by making the
isolated theatres seperate add in's in the upcoming 1.04 update
this would reduce loading time.
frame rate issues you would need to keep your distance from the
target with sub of cameras I think.

why not get a real PC?

As MM stated theatres are seperate to try to reduce loading times
Ironically its the ships themselves which add to the load time

More units = longer load time
Bigger campaign = Longer load time

Graphics in GWX are packed into dats where possible to aid performance too


What are your laptop specs ?

Stationed on a ship presently, Not a whole lot of personal room on a Military ship for personal pc's so I make due with me little lap top,

I'll bet WilhelmSchulz feels pretty stupid about now.

Also USS Sea Tiger, with the upcoming version structure, I'd recommend Black Sea or Indian Ocean campaigns. Difficult to explain right now, but will be easier on your system when enabled properly.

Search the forum for hints on making the game play better on older, slower systems and laptops. DL and use flightsimulator autostart.
Also make sure you have the latest video drivers; try the Omega drivers if you haven't yet.
In the game options, set render particles lower.
Learn to play poker, make a lot of money and on your next shore leave, invest in a new computer!
