Enigma machine on eBay!

I'm sure you guys have probably already seen this, but I found it on Digg and thought it was cool. If you have a spare $100K, this authentic Enigma machine can be yours!

I think it would be cool to make a replica.

From time to time, a enigma machines always pop's up on ebay.com. But I think the museum also buy on ebay, so possibly this one will be bought by one. At least they can afford the price.

flakmonkey 07-09-07 07:21 AM

pricey!
I saw some enigma rotors at a car-boot sale about 4-5 years ago, no machine to go with them though

There are many fakes out there, buyer beware. ;)

True, STEED mate!:yep::up: If i was to blow off 100K on a Enigma (Well, if i had that money, i wouldnt consider an enigma machine my first buying priority..;)), i would demand some REALLY hard evidence for it's genuinity..

No, Professor Jones, it belongs in the collection of the man strong enough to take it! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Only $100,000, eh. Let me check my pockets. No, not here. Not there either. Hmmm, I guess I'll have to wait for my monthly paycheck. I hope it's still there next week.

Hartmann 07-09-07 12:42 PM

It could be a fake or replica :hmm:

papa_smurf 07-09-07 01:16 PM

Might be a fake, but it would be hard to prove.

Despite that - I WANT ONE!

maillemaker 07-09-07 04:16 PM

I wonder if there are plans somewhere?

The owner may have got it by questionable means many years back and was waiting for the right time to sell it ? :hmm:

Turns out there are quite a few Enigmas out there -- & replicas -- and people to buy them. $100K sounds like a rip-off unless you absolutely "need" all-original rotors:

And yes, you can even build your own:
