Sounds leave me in the middle of the Pacific !

Hello ! I have a little problem with SH4, it's not a major bug but it's very annoying ... While I'm quietly travelling accross the Pacific (using the time accelerator of course), suddenly, the engine sounds disappear !! I can only hear explosions ... Everytime, I have to save my game, leave SH4 et reload it. It's quite annoying. I also loose engine sounds in the middle of an attack sometimes, when the torpedo exploses or when my deckgun opens fire.

I found another topic entitled "Sound problems" in which someone seemed to have the same problem than me, but it was an old topic and he hadn't had any answers, that's why I create a new one now.

Could somebody help me ??

Had same problem in other games with sound gone missing... And the cause usually isn't the game but the PC's soundcard, mainly onboard cheap soundcard.
Another likely cause is bad or old soundcard drivers.

Got 2 PCs, one with a proper soundcard one a cheap onboard, the one with the cheap onboard, offen give me the problem with sound going awol.

I had same problem, in my case i solved it by going into hydrophones then back out, dont know why, but later i uninstalled a sound mod i had in and went back to stock sounds, the problem went away, if you've got one installed try that, hope it helps, if not sorry.

I mainly use the stock sounds in the game (I only downloaded a more realistic periscope sound) but the problem was there yet when I had just bought the game (so without any mods).
I think the problem comes from my soundcard, as Seagate said. The one I have in my computer is a bit old...
