Radar Issues
 

Have had problems trying to get the radar to work. Try to make the switch work and it won't move when cursor is over it and it turns white. How do you make the radar work on its own? Thanks.

First of all, what year are you patroling in? You will not have the radar working in the early war but you can still go to the radar station. Just a weird way the developers made the interface. I do not know when the exact year you can start using the radar but, when you are in port and the upgrade for radar is available, this is the time to install it and then it is usable.

historicaly the radar was installed on subs from august 42.

Appreciate the information. The buttons seem to be there and they light up but when I move the mouse over them and click or hit the R button there is no action...you most likely are right....the radar is there but shouldn't be for the year.
I will test it with later years. Thanks for the responses.

Actually the USS Plunger was field tested the SD radar system during its war patrols late in 1941. The SJ system (much more reliable) came about in 1942. The PPI wasn't until 1943. This (also referred to as improved SJ) is the screen with the blips and sweaping line shown. Earlier radar were not as nice.

Now I am wondering why I can't get the SD radar to work at all. I have it installed on my subs. I just can't get it to work.

There is no station for SD radar nor can you manually use it. You'll get an announcement and a contact will be place on the nav map. However, SD radar was broken in 1.2 so unless you are running mods to fix this or you are running 1.3 then it just won't work.
