This is what the JAP Airbases would look like

I am working on one for the US and British Airbases now as well.

What will happen is you will be able to see the Airbases change acording to
who has control of them in the game as time passes. the US one's will be in Blue
and British one's will be in Green.

And I also plan on doing this for the Ports as well if people are interested
in seeing that as well. Sorry but no 3D images to go with the 2D one's
unless someone is willing to make them and then I will add it to the MOD
just too much work right now for me because I am also working on the OIL
Sliks and Fuel sliks for the Die Slowly MOD.

please let me know what you think!

I personally have been really hoping for something like this -- it's always bugged me that I have no idea what the current friendly/unfriendly status of the various airbases and ports were at any given point during the war. I vote yes. :D

Very good idea, but if possible I'd leave out the text designating the size of the various bases.

leovampire 07-03-07 01:30 AM

That is why I wanted to run it by people

See what they thought and if something didn't look right.

Okay LukeFF you got it I will leave out what size the Airbase is.

CaptainCox 07-03-07 01:46 AM

For sure looks good man!
Good way of knowing if you are within range (approximately) to expect air attacks

leovampire 07-03-07 01:52 AM

Just remember the range of any airbase

Depends on what you have your ranges set at on your planes in the game and the Airstrike file, Maximum Aircraft Range

I personaly don't have any planes range for more than 1500 and the airstrike file is set the same but like anything it is all a matter of taste.

But anyways I am going to bed I will post a new screen shot when I start the game showing what all the Airbases will look like on the NAV map JAP, US and British.

leovampire 07-03-07 02:02 AM

Okay here is a look at the NAV Map with US & British

And the changes that LukeFF sugested

I would opt, if possible, just to have the airbase marked with a reddish-blueish airplane in a circle symbol, just like how they are marked in the campaign cutscenes. I find the extra text unnecessary clutter.

CaptainCox 07-03-07 04:08 AM

That's also a good idea, the graphics just showing the symbols I mean. Of course showing the proper airport graphics with the flag when zoomed in.

Hawk_345 07-03-07 08:10 AM

i would really love to have this as well, but yeah the smaller aircraft symbols might be the beter way of aplying it ingame. Still either way it will be great.

Your right an Airplane symble would be a good idea

Now just the task of making one. I guess I could figure out a way and see if Captain Cox will fix the size and alpha layers for me again like he did for these. In the mean time I will release the JAP one I have now and work on a different type of symble one today!
