I couldn't pull the trigger...

Patroling SW off Ireland in a light fog I got a contact. Ran it down and there was a troop transport in my sights. Fed data to the weapons officer and set four fish to run at medium speed. But as it neared in the fog I saw it was a hospital ship, the first I personally had ever seen in GWX.

And I just couldn't do it. I couldn't pop a cap on her. So I ordered us to dive quietly and we snuck away.

All that beautiful tonnage right in my sights, and I couldn't pull the trigger....

Yeah shooting a hospital ship is a cheap shot.

Not to mention a HUGE renown hit
And a spanking back in port
If your career isnt over

:rotfl:

Interesting.

I have never blasted a Hospital ship, and I see them semi-frequently in War Ace.
Saw one travel by the shore units near Trondhiem, I passed departing into the channel and it got blasted. It had a Norway flag durring the Norway ops, clearly enemy but still. All those purty nurses.. vs. game mechanics. How fair is that?

Attacking hospital ships is just not done. Besides, as BBW said above, there's no tonnage, your career may end or you lose a lot or renown.

sank one a while ago... but i never left port again then... even if i sank 3 BB's after that

Iron Budokan 07-03-07 06:53 PM

Really? The game might end your career if you sink a hospital ship? I didn't know that... :hmm:

Maybe it's full of tommie soldiers?

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 07-03-07 10:02 PM

wounded tommy soldiers...
but even then your career stops and you get shot :nope:

I once got rammed by a hospital ship - the first and only one I ever saw- when TC-cruising somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic.....although it had reduced my hull intergirty to something like 7% I didn't dare to sink the bastard because I was afraid my career would be terminated by BdU....

I should have returned to base naturally, but I decided to press on: I was sunk by a seagull that pooped on my deck....all hands lost! :dead:
