Bolton too Pessimistic on Iran?

I guess you have to ask yourself who knows more about the situation in the Middle East.

I wouldn't say Iran is not a direct threat to the US currently, so maybe we should follow the lead of our allies?

This could be integrated into the rationing thread. I suspect it is based on the same issue.

That's a good point. Maybe the Mossad has discovered that the situation is a lot worse than the have Iranians let on. I mean the Soviets covered up the crash of their economy for nearly 10 years.

Iran is not Iran. You guys would be surprised if knowing how much diverse cultural influence, last but not least from the West, there is or used to be, in living, in education, in arts, everywhere. Iran used to have a very substantial, open-minded "Bildungsbürgertum", with considerable parts of it being very unhappy about the fate of Persia being defeated and subjugated by Islam aggression after twohundred years of war and attacks, and later: Khomeni.

But Khomeni all shot it into pieces, finally. The problem is that although I say all this, true Islam is now present in the vast majority of locations and occasions in Iran. And Islam IS a problem for everyone, for now, and for all future to come.

So , i wouldn't say Iran is no direct threat to the US, or anyone else, currently. I just would be more specific or precise in the description of the threat.

Did you know that by far the most exiled apostates of Islam - are Iranians?

I just meant that currently, Iran does not have the military or industrial capacity to threaten the United States. Not counting recent improvements in United States and North Korean relations, the North Koreans are/were a lot closer to hitting the United States with an atomic missle than Iran is.

Iran is more of a "direct" threat to Israel and Europe.
