Thompson Coupling

I have a 4x4 bronco and am needing to do drivetrain work on it and came across this video....awesome invention and I pray it is not squashed away by the auto parts industry the same way the electric car was pushed aside....opinions comments very cool.

Bravo Australia!

If it works for them, I'm going to stand on my head all day long, too, and see what I can come up with. Other than bile.

Seriously, even I understood that. :yep: Now I can go downstairs and take apart my hubby's jeep to figure out how it works. :yep:

I would think that this is something that would be an instant hit with any vehicle manufacturer. What's the downside? It's not like electric cars whose fuel cell technologies are simply not ready for prime time today.

I love it. Not sure how it works but I always appreciate innovation and efficiency.

We've got a show here in Australia called "The New Inventors" where people that invent things come on , show it off and it gets voted on by a panel, (once the shows finished , theres a phone poll on the inventions for the "Peoples"choice) , end of the season the invention of the year gets help in getting their design marketed - the thompson coupling was on earlier this year and it clean swept the panel and peoples choices

That is one cool invention  It should have countless applications in so many fields/areas :yep:
Well done you cons

If that were the case there'll still be a use for the 'shackles' then ;)

I've seen this thing before: it's in the VIIC command room! Look for yourself, the room is full of fixed struts that look just like this thing. The difference is that those don't really rotate, or do they?

this is one of my personal favorites fron the new inventors

http://www.abc.net.au/tv/newinventors/txt/s1457011.htm

I had to have my back fused early 2005 at the royal adelaide hospital and they were testing these  , whats ironic is if we'd had one of these when I was working, (Army Medic working in a military hospital), I would never have injured my back and wouldnt have had to have my back done

Talking to one of the hospital porters earlier this year about the bed lifter and he was telling me when they first tested it , the Management of the hospital said No to buying a bunch of units - Then they saw the new inventors show with it and said "What a great Idea , should we get some" the answer to which was 'What do you think we've been useing and asked for way back" , the hospital's got something like 50 units now ;)

Just like may organisations. If they don't see it working infront of them, they don't belive in it.

There has been some great inventions on the show, many of which have taken off after they were shown on air. It's just a pity we don't keep many of them in Australia:cry::cry:
