Need help with a mod.
 

It is a SHIV mod but Im pulling all the resources I can here.
I want to change the graphis of the carer event screens(ex. when starting the carear, new seb offered ect) to historcial photos. I know where the files are but I dont have the soft ware to acces it(DDS file). I need help here.

Have a look at Captain Coxs' Silent Service Mod, it is excellent, may give you
some ideas.

Edit: Ok, think you might have saw this by your first post, maybe PM CC, maybe he has some info.

ok can anyone help me here?

I tried to convert a jpg to a dds and got this.
[image.jpg] is not a power of 2 size

can someone help me understand what this means?

It means that the HEIGHT and WIDTH of the picture is not dividable in 4

For example
You have a picture that is 513x513 pixels
Divide 513 in 4 = 128,25
No good as it has ,25

However
512 in 4 = 128
Will work

As long as the side Height and Width is dividable by 4 it should work.

I will give you another example of size
Ok you have a picture that is
1282 X 1026
1282/4=320,5
1026/4=256,5

As you can see its not dividable with 4

Now if I resize it to
1280 X 1024
1280/4=320
1024/4=256

That will save as a DDS no problem.

Also I would recommend GIMP if you cant get Photoshop
Its totally free (open source) and has all the features that PS has.

When you save a DDS file "I" use these settings...its from the NVIDIA Plug In so might differ a bit to the one of GIMP, but should be similar.

When you load a DSS in to Photoshop (I think similar in GIMP)

The MIP maps setting should be off when you are doing stuff for the MENU!

Thanks for the help But I looked at Cox's Silent Service mod and he is using most of the pitchurs I want to use. Good Idea but just a little slow. :nope:
