Automatic log out?
Hi everyone!
Just a small question: Is it normal to get logged out automatically from time to time?:hmm: Example: I'm logged in and reading some forum posts for, say, one hour. During this time I get logged out several times (4 times and more) and this seems NOT to be time-dependent. Also I get logged out while answering to other posts (in the editor). It's pretty annoying always to log in again.:cry: So, is there a way around for this problem? Thanks in advance! |
No, this is not normal.
Some will tell you, that I'm logged in for most of the day.:) I have never experienced what you describe. Do you have any background cleaning processes running on your PC? Are your cookies getting wiped? |
Although it's probably very unlikely, you could try changing your password first, incase someone (somehow) found out what it is.

@danlisa:
yes, my cookies get cleaned when I close my browser window...but I don't close the browser window when I'm in the forum!:hmm: @ASWnut101: but this person then wouldn't be able to log in when I'm already logged in. Or am I wrong? Thanks for your answers, but I'm still confused!:88) EDIT: So, now I have changed my pwd, too. Hope it helps me! |

Still, very odd. Hope you get it sorted. |

pwd change didn't make a difference. Yes, sometimes I open a second window (for reading the thread while answering to it), but the problem also exists when I have only one window opened. Deactivated cookie cleaning for a while, hope this helps.:-? I will report later... EDIT: cookie cleaning set to 'off' doesn't work, got logged out two times right now! Argh! I think I'm gonna despair of this! |
I get logged out if I've left the PC for a time. I suppose this is normal? Never been logged out whilst typing a reply though.

+- 60 minutes will get you automaticly logged out. at least thats hows it is here. when I leave the computer for about a hour alone and refresh or click a thread I have to logg in again. |
