Uhhh were you assigned a mission to insert troops ?

Might be a little conflict mission wise there with RFB.

Only thing that anchor icon has given me is a 'refit' or 'dock' message.

For most of my 57 years I've heard of "grins and giggles", but that one is new to me. Is it just a case of people feeling they have to rude or they're not cool?

I've never heard of "grins and giggles", it was always the more...colorful expression that I had heard.

John Channing 06-18-07 01:59 PM

That's they was they say it where I live, but I have never liked it.

We're gettin' old, Steve!

I've heard of grins and giggles, and I've heard of *hits and grins. Maybe this is what he was trying to say?

I've seen this once. It was during a long mission and I had used some time compression. When it happened I thought WTF! I restarted the mission and never saw it again. I wrote it off as a corruption thing. I do believe time compression can be responsible for many problems, and I generally keep an eye on my frame rates when using it. I try to keep at least 25 FPS and don't usually have a problem. BUT, I was doing a photo mission in Osaka Harbor last night. When cruising towards the target area, there was so much going on (objects), my FPS got slow and I was not paying enough attention when compressing time. I checked my frame rate and noticed it got down to about 6 or 8 FPS. Whoops! When I got to the range I should have been able to photo, I zoomed in on my map, and where my boat should have appeared, there was a big black area. Something got hosed, I restarted from a save and viola, all was well again. Moral of the story, .....watch how much TC you are using and keep an eye on the frame rate. (CTRL + F8)

Well, I can understand doing something because it produces grins, and I can understand doing something because it produces giggles, but 'I did it for $#!+s'? I try to avoid that sort of thing, myself.

My apologies to TwistedFemur; we now return you to your regularly scheduled post.

Can't be. I didn't mess with any Honshu missions.

On the sh**s and giggles issue, as far as I know it's a fairly common phrase, especially after it was used in the 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery' movie. I think it's an English phrase from Southern England.
