Slow, Lagging, Yellow cursor movement ?
Yup.. I *know* it was covered, 'somewhere'... but the problem is I can't remember/find WHERE! Some configuration change or something like that. I tried The Fix before to no effect. With updated Video I am hopeful it will help...
Where ?? COB |
The only thing that works for me is reducing the graphics/increasing the frame rates. I finally had to break down and lower the resolution to 1024x768, now I can have all the graphic options turned on with no mouse lag.

It happens to me when my memory become fragmented... a reboot solve it.
How many RAM are you using ? |
I normally run in 1024 in the first place. Just a carry-over from other games, I guess. I have 2 GB of RAM. I like to run the video for High quality, a lot of my enjoyment of the games come from 'eye-candy'...
This isn't BAD, it is just that last night I remembered the topic and some fellow's 'cure' ... COB |

I run the game into 1024 too, and with 3GB RAM, but most of the people have not any kind of problem with 2GB RAM. Try closing all non needed background programs, you can use End It All 2 and Security Task Manager.... and try uninstalling the game, defrag you HD, and reinstall it on a fresh defreged HD. To avoid to reinstall all mods, just make a copy of you complete Data folder.... Good luck... and comment if you found a good fix for it... |
I'm running on a Fresh Install; I just did a Reformat on the computer. Oh, well... it truly is a 'small' complaint... Still, maybe the Author of The Fix will happen to come by and tell us all about it...again!

Is it possible that this ->http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=116633 is the thread talking about the mouse issues and fixes...its the one I remember anyways.
|
Thanks for the try, GT... Nope, that's not the one. There was something about going into Data/Config.. I think.
As a matter of fact, I am running a ATI X1600 and Two Sample A-A... The Game is fine, great... it is the 'delay' in the drag of that mouse cursor that irritates... COB |
I had a laggy mouse issue while "tweaking" some video configs in my nvidia panel. There is an option "max frames to render ahead" that is set to 2 by default. When I put it to 0, I gain quite some fps but my mouse seems to get obese with this setting. Back to 2 then.
|
The only thing I see to help this issue is to target your frame rates at 18FPS or higher. This seems to let the mouse go and move smoothly.

Maybe I was under the influence of a Full Tummy when I thought I had seen this topic covered...
Thanks.... all around, anyway, Mates.. COB |

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ght=mouse+slow Two threads about mouse issues with possible fixes. Second has a link along with instructions for a fix that involves a file edit so maybe this one's your guy? Good luck... |
YES ! That is it ! I just checked it out, and while I am very happy for your help, I don't see a bit of difference in the cursor activity. But that's OK; at least I was able to find and try it. Thanks to all...
I put the pedal to the metal, running 1600 X 1200, and ALL the boxes checked. The game is fine and if I am just a little careful with the mouse.... well, that's 'OK'... Great game, isn't it.... COB |
While we're on the subject, My mouse and frame rates seem fine, I'm getting 25 to 30 FPS in exterior, while on deck or looking through the scope, double or triple that on other views, but when trying to fine tune the TDC (angle on bow or speed settings) sometimes what appears to be a 35 degree setting and sending to TDC and then looking at the tool tips (the little flags that appear when holding the mouse over the position keeper dials) what I thought I sent may be off a degree or two. Is that the game or my system?

How do you check the frame rates?
