Sounds i never heard before
 

Hi all,


I have a new sound Card and some 5.1 system ( X-FI + 5450 Logitech). I'm very surprised by the sound quality then i have now !!

I tried SH4 and in the sound options, i turned the slider all the way on right, and launch a mission -----> :o The sound is fantastic, and more surprising for me was the sound that i never heard before : The engine sound of an aircraft carrier ( or maybe the propellers, i don't know ..)

I wonder which new sound i will hear while playing !!

Sounds yummy... Glad to hear it.

Let me know if your sound man tells you those minor details like depth charges in the water, or circular runners ;)

I feel a bit stupid when i re-read my post ... Maybe you guys have all some good sound hardware and i was the last one with a simple stereo :rotfl:

sounds in SHIV are not particulary highest quality. I have simple Audigy 2 with very good quality Sennheiser headphones attached to it and sounds impressive with some other games, like thief 3 which is very focused on sound. But perhaps Im missing a true surround experience....

What does it for me is my 7.1 surround sound off my motherboard. The surround does create the Dobbler Effect so you hear planes coming in etc.

My new sound card is a X-FI ... Maybe she does good work with 5.1 and SH4 ;)

I'm playing with the Trigger Maru mod (Flavored to taste 2.5). There are some sounds in there I like. I always get a chuckle, and can't help but repeating him when ordering all crew to battle stations.....and I quote...."General Quarters, General Quarters! , ...All hands man yer battle stations, all hands man yer battle stations!"

The way that guy say's it cracks me up! Again, I get such a kick out of trying to mime him, with all the same vocal inflections he uses.

in time, you'll be able to differentiate between a merch, DD and battleship/aircraft carrier screw noises, if you didn't already

Yep, I gots the 7.1 surround sound in my systems as well. Gots my speakers all set up and I'll tell ya, you know what side of the boat the DCs are blowin up on.
