Well there I was sailing home then suddenly the screen changed to the one after you dock, what's going on here? Then I saw it, the war is over and we won. Talk about abrupt ending, well it's time to say good bye to easy mode and move on up the ladder for more realism.

Dramatic closure has never been one of the strong points of these games.

I still remember the first time I saw the "your dead" screen in SH3... :doh:

Oh and congrats on surviving the war !

i had big plans... i was going to finish off the war then sail to NY harbor with the crew, new york chicks, a heros welcome, maybe a picnic in the harbor at the foot of the statue of liberty... but all that was cut short. i was a little let down, but like you just gave me an excuse to start earlier in the war this time around. :)

Well in real life there probably was great cheers and celebration.

Excitement and anticipation of returning home to your honey.

Relief in that your life wont be snuffed out on a moments notice.

A splash screen that says "The war is over" is a tad anticlimatic.

But I can live with that. Real life dident have a saved game.

You get to see a newspaper headline as well. ;)
