If that goes to trial (which I doubt) any half-decent lawyer would rip the prosecution to shreds, and they probably know it.

That law is total garbage. Private citizens can't tape anyone with anything involving sound including police but the cops and the rest of the state can use cameras and recordings.

These are the times I smile when people have looked at me aghast when I told them "Never trust a cop". You gotta be wary.
