[REL] Sh3 T2 Tanker for Sh4
 

Here is a Tanker to replace the old Split freighter (allied side). It is a refit of an Sh3 ship. There are 4 different textures. Alittle brown shows through... but it does work (in the Museam only)! A nice addition for other contries without oil tankers! This is not available because IT DOESN'T WORK!!!! see my post down there somewhere... AARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why replace a ship instead of adding a new one?

I thought you devs said new ships couldnt be added . You are being very cryptic :hmm: .

The main problem with adding a new ship is to create a dat file and the associated .zon, .val, .sim and .dsd files. Once you have those - as our modder here seems to have - the rest is easy.

Yeah, a few guys have already added ships. They need to get added (in a mod) to the Roster as well for the different nations that would use it.

I can't wait to see some ~1000 ton and smaller merchants modeled by someone :D

I did the conversion of this ship several months ago...In the Merchant Power Pact...and Ship Power Pact...

always good to have more ships, just beware if you have my power packs this would cause a CTD.

Replacement?
 

The Japs use the same small freighter so I just textured this one and threw it in the pile. Oh, I tried the medium tanker from ships power pack and the 18 texture files do not match the ship. Some of the bridge is displayed on the keel! These dds textures have Alphas which try and push the true colors through a previous game ship model. This is a re-texture of the Sh3 tanker that has been renamed to add the older T2 oil tanker in with the T3. I thought there were too many frieghters and not enough of these, and besides it is an Allied ship. More or less scenery in the backdrop of the big scheme of things.

What is a "CTD"?
If I have your Packs it is because I found them here, on SubSim.com ! No, I Hue'd and sized the textures myself !! Editing of the ini's or cfg's and what-knot, all compliments of:

Its pretty easy to import ships, just copy the folder (make a few additions to the cfg) over from SH3, make a roster entry and voila...

I tested this ship in the Museam but when I ran a game IT FROZE!

I have removed this ship from my download site and I apoligize for any inconvience it may have caused. I will advise anyone who downloaded it to NOT use it as it is not compatable with Silent Hunter 4
