GWX - Dumb question
 

Late Aug, 1940. I just spent my last torp and was returning to Wilhelmshaven. I got a message that the base has changed to Lorient. I'm 300km from my old port. Must I return to Lorient to get full credit? Fortunately, fuel isn't an issue for once . . .

You can go to either but your next patrol will start off from your new base :arrgh!:

Personally, I would go straight to Lorient.

I'm not saying you will but I have encountered an annoying stock bug where you always get "base changed to ....." when loading your career if you don't proceed to your new base, as indicated by the message recieved.

It's not a game killer but it is very annoying.

I must have been on the same mission as you. Same time, Aug 40. I left Wilhemshaven to patrol DF77. Never made it there as I encountered 2 convoys on the way. Once out of eels, I went back to Willy only to find out I was supposed to go to Lorient.:damn: Should have read the orders better.:lol:

I could have easily gone to Lorient, but it's a pain in the ass getting by Scapa Flow, so I went to Wilhelmshaven instead.

My next mission was to go to NULL (I love that town. It's the great choices in restaurants i think :D) with a return to Wilhelmshaven. I think the biggest buzzkill was that I couldn't do anything except hand out medals/promotions. I was 50 pts away from getting a type IX.

I've had this game since release and still haven't driven anything except a II or VII.

You can always try a single mission and give her a whirl.........

Yep, you should have read your orders.

I read mine and I gone to St. Nazaire.
