Cool encouter with an S-Class
Feb. `40 U-51 VIIB
Spotted an S-Class sub. She was heading S/E past the Scappa flow horn. Managed to sneek up and after a few well placed deck gun hits disable her. But she didn't explode and sink. "Oppertunity" :) Simulated a boarding, took some screens, back-up and finished her off. Now I didn't get any screens of the gun battle but it didn't last real long, she fought back but I had the element of suprise. Slammin' |
Very nice
Sank one of those babies on the patrol before last. Was pulling out from St Nazaire when the lookouts shouted 'submarine spotted' I assummed it was one of those U-boats you always see going up and down but it started shelling me! Its aiming was really brutal. I put up the deck gun crew, held fire till about 2000m and then opened fire. It sank on the first hit |
Ran across one in convoy WNW of Lisbon. I almost felt bad about feedin her an eel. Almost still didn't keep me from doing it though. It flies the Union Jack, it gets sunk.

Spotted one NW of Scotland and was returning with no torpedoes and sea state was too bad for the deck gun. I dived and had to let her get by. :shifty:
If I had not submerged, I wonder if she would have been able to use her deck gun against me? I would think that, all being equal, we could have done nothing buy throw cans of beans at each other. Looking back, I think I should have stayed on the surface to see if she actually would start shooting her deck gun at me. |
You chose the right course of action....she'd probably of been able to use her deck gun :yep:
|
Those Ai Subs take ages to sink for some reason... :hmm:
|
Where can I find those subs?
|
I saw one just literally 30 minutes ago, in a convoy! She was sailing with the ships in the line. I was of two minds whether or not to blast it. But decided it would be a waste of a bow torp. Wagered I'd use the stern tube, but alas, that did not transpire.
