Have Geforce 7900cs, Use Nvidia 101 Rev, Trying To Replace With
Nvidia 158.24. Win Vista Wiil Not Let, Even If I Uninstall 101 & Try To Install 158 Rev. Anyone Else Have Same Problem? |
I have never used Vista but I'm guessing there are some left over files that uninstalling did not remove. There is a program called Driver Cleaner that I use after manually uninstalling the drivers to make sure its a clean uninstall. The program used to be free. I'm unaware whether they are now charging for it. If its no longer free, try to find an older version.

Using 158.45 (the driver for Company of Heroes VISTA DX10 Patch)
Also had the 158.24 before that, running a EVGA 8800GTX and never had any driver issues what so ever. Always had Nvidia and I always will ;) |

Max: bad. If it was an attemtpt at humor.... still bad!
Everyone else: move along. Show's over. Nothing to see here. JCC |
You can also get rid of old driver files by using Driver Detonator. 3DGuru.com has this program.
|
It's called Detonator R.I.P.

Hi Yes, I tried to install 158.24 on my Vista system yesterday with no luck. It uninstalled the 158.18 driver but did not install the 158.24 driver. No changes were made to the system after the installer finished. I have reinstalled the 158.18 driver. I have a GF 7950GT card and Vista 32bit. |
