So whats your favorite Aircraft?

as I,m a Combat flight simmer I say my favorite is the

''Lavochkin'' Russian Fighter

the Variants LA-5 & LA-7.

good speed, turning doesnt really affect the speed and has good firepower
the only thing I dont like is that when I exceed the speed limit (600 Km/h) my plane will fall apart.

Fave Aircraft?

That's easy, Douglas DC-3.

Lots come close, but the DC-3 has it all for me, innovative, ubiquitous, beautifully photogenic, reliable, easy to fly, versatile - has been a combat aircraft too in several wars and it's built like a tank. Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, the DC-3 was even copied practically down to the last rivet by the Russians as the Li-2.
Even though it's now 70 years old as a design, many are still flying and it is still a viable means of transport. Lots of aircraft get called flying legends, but the DC-3 really is one - legendary, and still flying on a daily basis.

I quite like the DH Vampire.

My old RAAF Reserves unit had one (A79-808) which I would jump into at least once a week (it was display only - didn't fly and needed a bit of restoration).

IIRC it's now in storage in Wales.

Actually, I agree on the DC-3. It added tremendously to so many adventure movies, and there was/is a very atmospheric FS-model by Roy Chaffin around. :)

Good choice Biggles - if it wasn't for the old DC-3, I think the B-17G would do it for me too. Oddly enough, they do have a link of sorts, in that the Boeing 247 was the inspiration for the DC-1 and eventually the DC-3, and you can definitely see the 247's influence in the B-17.

That photo is of the Sally B the only Flying B17 in this country.
Back in the 80's my whole family were part of the crew(my mother,Betty Roberts got us all involved)we travelled around airshows selling souvenirs to keep her flying
