McIntosh MS750
I don't have one of these yet:
http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/images/p...traighttop.jpg http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/mcprod/s...&product=MS750 Cost is $6K. I guess I don't need it because I already have the same capability, but I mainly use that capability for video, and not so much for audio. When I do use audio, my surround proc does the D to A, so I get as perfect sound quality, but this box is nice in being that it is self contained. I also did it for about $3K less than this thing by building it myself, but still, I love anything McIntosh when it comes to stereo equipment. They use top notch components. I guess you have to pay $2K just to have the name, but you also get what you pay for - some of the best equipment $$$ can buy. My big question - How does it deal with scratch repair? I see it uses a Sony transport (Why would they use Sony? Ugghh! Bad choice). In scratch repair capability, if done correctly, may rival or surpass my own capability. I do seriously doubt it can do better scratch repair than I can do by hand, but I'd like to try it out and see what its true capability is. I think I need to go find one of these things and check it out. -S |
