Just a quick question

Ok, I have recently bought SH4, and i will be buying a new rig in the next few weeks from Dell. Now the system that i plan on buying comes with a 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro PCI Graphics card. Now i know that a 256MB Graphics card is reccomended for SH4, But my new system will come with Vista Home Premium already installed, now i know Vista is quite heavy on the system requirements, so would the Graphics card thats coming with my new system be sufficent to play SH4 on relatively high graphics with Vista?

Thanks

You can run it no above 1024 resolution with med graphics...
1 GB of RAM is recommended.
CPU anything above 2.5GHz.
Graphics card: Recommend X1600 and above.

My new system will have a AMD Dual Core @2.6Ghz, 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD.
So its only the Graphics card that will prevent me from playing in high graphics, am i right?
Sorry, computer hardware isnt my strongest subject. :(

Whoa!!:o
Man, with proper graphic card, you could play at the maximum RESOLUTION, DETAILS and whatever.
I recommend nvidia 8800GTX as the crysis will come out soon, so that you will be equipped with DX10 beast!

Yaaaay :)
Yes that Graphics card looks very good indeed
With a Graphics card like that will it be necessary for me to upgrade my Power Supply Unit aswell? Im not sure what my new system will come with, i imagine it will come with a standard Power Supply.

@ NoTG - just MAKE SURE you download the AMD Dual Core fixes from Microsoft.

Also, memorize this tip for SH4 on any multiple core processors: start the game, CTRL+ALT+DEL, in the Task Manager right click on the game executable (sh4.exe) and set AFFINITY to ONE core only. You need to do this manually every time you start the game.

This is also needed for other games not scripted to take advantage of multiple cores (from memory: Beyond Good & Evil, Ground Control II).

Happy hunting with your new rig :)

I think it can handle it, you should upgrade your power supply if using SLI or Crossfire, I mean, two graphics cards at once....
Must be a fortune to have this baby...
Take good care of her!

I have P4 3.0 GHz with HT technology and it runs fine, why does he have to do this?:hmm:

I use the Radeon ATI XGE X1300 512MB card. It is attached to the AMD 64 3200+ and 1 gig RAM. I have all sliders to the right and all boxes checked with exception of fog, sunlight rays and water glare. I now get 20+ FPS on all screens with some tweeking. AA is set at 4X.

If you can get the 8800 go for it. If your stuck with the X1300 for a while, no worries, the game will look good with this card also.

That's why Subsim.com is the best!:yep:
Whatever you need, just wistle, and I'll be there...:rotfl:

The 8800 is on my list now :)
And im glad it will work fine on the X1300, i was worried that i would be playing a game with such amazing graphics but not be able to play it without all graphics set to low.

Well, again, if they can slip in the 8800 card, go for it!!! You will be ahead of the game down the road:yep:

Dual Core is different from HT. I have Intel Dual Core, and it has no HT. Don't know the guts of the problem, but I've experienced it and found a fix ON THIS FORUM  I tried it and it worked wonders - also for other games, as I've said.
