I missed it. May I ask you something? I've been rattling
around here awhile. Would you tell me how to post a picture out of "my pictures" in XP. I asked for help from the forum but got no response. thank you, ross in Texas

You can't post on the forum a picture from your computer's hard drive. The picture file must reside on the Internet, where everyone has public access to it.

I suggest using ImageShack to upload your images to. Then, once you've uploaded the picture, you would display it here on the forum using bracketed IMG code. Example (remove the blanks when actually doing this:

[ IMG ]http://www.awebsite.com/myimage.jpg[ /IMG ]

I haven't looked at the link yet, but considering 65 years ago was 1942, I would say Operation Drumbeat got underway off the East coast. At that time My father was on his way to dutch Harbor for the Attu & Kiska invasions. I was wrong, but Midway fits the timeline.

Those were some dark days for the allies. Midway was a pretty key battle and it's a good thing we won.

This is one of the first big war-turning wins of that time for the allies. Dark times for sure, but that's when the scales had begun to turn :yep:


El Alamein would be quite soon, and Stalingrad would follow. '42 was, imho, the real make-or-break year for the allies, and they did what they had to.
