Not to worry. She's still save and sound in LA. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Queen_Mary_hotel.jpg
And the sub next to her is Russian and won't attack.

Cool....looking forward to seeing the old queen

GoldenEagle8 06-01-07 06:19 AM

COOL! I like that skin alot more than the plain white one! However, that plain white is how it was during the War, "The Grey Ghost."

VonDos 06-01-07 06:43 AM

yes, in the WW2's duty Queen Mary (like Queen Elizabeth, and Aquitania, and..)
was painted in Grey (i think in march 1940), the original skin (the autor of the ship is UBOAT234) is correct! This repaint is "just for fun".. :p
This cunard livery was used for Queen Mary before the war, and after, until today :sunny: because QM is survived..

and i think she will stay with us for a long time in the future

ps With sh3Commander it's possible to have the ship in cunard colors from 1939 to march 1940 an in "Grey Ghost" from march 1940 to the end; isn't it?

GoldenEagle8 06-01-07 06:53 AM

Thats a cool idea, doing that with SH3 Commander, but I have no idea how to do that....

Just go in the "date" folder, select the folder whit the data you're interested in, make a data\sea\nppq_ folder where put the *.dat and the *tga... :ping:
it is not really difficult.. i will think about this. :yep:
But, when really Queen Mary become Grey? (in History!) :hmm:

http://troopships.pier90.org/ships/q...ry/default.htm

here say:
March 21, 1940 Departs New York for Sydney, Australia, to be fitted as a troopship. Accommodations increased from 2,140 to 5,500.

someone has got some others info?

Just the *_Txx.tga files need to go in the folder, not the dat file (unless the skin is in the dat file, in which case only the dat is needed).

Between 1 March 1940 (official requisition date) and 21 March 1940 (departure date for Cape Town).

I have a photo of it here somewhere with the other two great liners berthed together in New York prior to departure. The funnels are most definitely light in colour, unlike the pre-war red.

EDIT: Found this... http://uncommonjourneys.com/pages/qmservice.htm and http://members.aol.com/bry1976/qnmary/qm_war.html

Danke for the info
Now, there are 2 *.tga files (one included in the *dat, and modified with pack3d, and one external, T01), and some *.obj files have been reworked with a UV remapping..
*.dat and *.tga are different from the original
so, what can i do for make it compatible with sh3Commander?
Thank you

JScones 06-01-07 09:57 AM

OK then, add the .dat and *_Txx.tga. The .obj files I assume are in the dat? If not, then add them in too.

Heck, add in any file that you've changed or added. ;)

VonDos 06-01-07 10:00 AM

Yes, the *.obj are inclused into the *.dat :yep:
Thank you a lot
