Help....
Hi all...
May be somebody has the same issue/problem. I recent changed my NEC Croma Clear CRT by an LCD 19" 5:4 300C, 2000:1 contrast, 4ms, by LG (1900R Phantasy). Well, compared with my ancient NEC Croma Clear, this LCD LG is just a piece of s@##$, the NEC may be old, but it is superb ! Initially i used the builder program to calibrate the monitor, but it is bad, i can reduce the bright enough, so i decide to unistall the program and use the windows control panel divers settings to adjust it, it work nice, better than LG builder program. whats the problem... it looks nice, but when i load up SH IV, play a mission, and tehn back to my desktop, the gamma is changed, windows seems to still taking the SH IV settings instead the control panel settings. If i go to the control panel or rebbot the computer i recover the settings... Why SH IV override my OS settings after the sim is closed ? Any help...will be welcome !!!:up::up: |
Try messing with the game details, set to low/high, if refresh rate available, set exact like the monitor, resolution the same as the monitor.
If nothing happens, try pressing F5 after exiting the game...:hmm: Update video card drivers? Had this problem with some games. Temporary workaround: In control panel, change resolution and then set it back again at original... |
Hmm, I haven't experienced that either... I had the same situation when I've changed from my 19" CRT to my new and shiny 22 LCD widescreen...
Are you using some kind of tweak programs for your graphic card? Also I would recommend completely uninstalling the drivers, reboot, install new once again... Might help :) Good luck! |

Use ATI Tray Tool? |
Many thanks GakunGak, MaxT and Anvart..
Happens with diferent drivers version. F5 makes nothing. I use 1280x1024 in desktop, but 1024x768 into SH IV. 1280x1024 into sim, droops my FPS. No other game/sim makes it... only SH IV. I do not use ATI Tray Tool, i use ATI Tool, to Underclock my card to avoid anoying graphic glitches. |
Have you tried to run it windowed (since the full resolution lags anyway)? :)
|
If low-end video card, try lowering details...:hmm:
If possible, set refresh rate to 75Hz. Update to latest drivers. Close all background programs... Try that. |

On the other hand... Do you have any Adobe products installed (Like Photoshop, Acrobat Reader etc)? See if you have Adobe Gamma Loader loading at your startup and if it does, remove it and reboot. After that the problem should be solved :) Proceed as follows:

Sounds promising...:hmm:
Good find! |

Into the control panel... there is a box, (Show only accepted options), and only 60hz is acepted, not 75hz, if i uncheck this box, 75Hz apperas, but not sure, aparently the monitor do not accept more than 60 HZ. Quote:

Many thanks gus for help and suggestions i still trying... Any new idea, please comment... |
I have just read patch changes for 1.1 and there states that gamma is available only in fullscreen, so try running it in windowed mode...:hmm:
|
Well... may be the Adobe Gamma Loader is the problem, if i re-enable it, when i rebbot the computer, it makes the same as SH IV, washed my monitor colours overriding my control panel settings.
I disable it and when i rebbot, i have my desired gamma settings, but after run SH IV, when i go out of the sim, it makes the same as the adobe gamma loader, it washed my screen colours overriding my control panel settings. No other program make this, only SH IV, it seems to "wake up" the adobe gamma loader settings... The problem is i use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe LightRoom.... i am not sure if i can "kill" this proccess.... :hmm::hmm::hmm: |
You can remove the process so it wont start on start-up...
End point : use the monitor's settings (use the buttons on the monitor itself) to override all other settings (software ones). Good luck |
