Silent Hunter 3 without Starforce?
 

Was there ever a legal version of Silent Hunter 3 produced that was patched to 1.4 and was without Starforce?

I have a new computer and SH4 runs beautifully on it. I'd like to also have SH3 on it, but I'm not loading my version of the game as it was an early version of the game with the SF drivers.

If anyone knows where I could buy a legal version of SH3 with no SF, please let me know. Thanks.

However, I own the disk which was first available and I play starforce free.;) You must know how.:-?

Unfortunately there is some stigma attached to this but what does it matter what you do with your own copy.

Yet, if there is really an official no-cd, no-starforce version of SH3, I would like to have a confirmation, as it should pave the way for the rest of us to get a proper patch that removes those features legally...and SUPPORTED by the maker :yep:

No-Cds and such are not just a piracy nest, they are also most likely an invitation to virus, spam and such.:nope:

I was not refering to Subsim's rules, I was refering to general use of such items.

I respect Subsims rules, which I why I made no direct reference to the workaround or provided any concrete details.

It depends from country to country.
At least in italy, the budget edition of SH 3 which is in english with the printed manual translated in italian is starforce free with the latest patch 1.4.
Price : 9,99 euro.

its good news that there is a 1.4b patched starforce free SH3 DVD out there.

now lets hope we all can have this one day.

I agree. I'm going to ask the lead game designer on SH4, who also did much of the audio work on SH3, and get his take on this. I'll report back. Thanks Guys.
