SH3 Resolution / widescreen

I have just reinstalled sh3 after not playing it in a long time, and since then i have bought a new widescreen LCD screen but the game runs in 1024x768...

how can i set the resolution to 1440 x 900 16:10 aspect ratio????

thanks

I, too, would like to know if this is possible... When I'm playing, I feel like I need to constantly pull the camera back because the resolution isn't right.

Try this - http://files.filefront.com/SH3_XPSP2.../fileinfo.html

Very easy to use and a readme is included. You may have to play with the rez settings in the d3d9.cfg to get the best fit for your monitor.

Unfortunately, SH3 was not designed to be multi rez, so this is the only workaround for us. Native widescreen suport is a problem, you may experience munchkins or squashed dials. This maybe fixable if you have a nVidia card and latest control panel.

Hi all !
I followed the instructions but it won't work !
I'm using SP3 is it compatible anyway ??
Help !

I couldn't get it to work either, all I get is 1280x1024. This is ofcourse better than the original 1024x768, but still not what I want.

In the settings for your graphics card look for scaling options. I use scale to screen while keeping the aspect ratio. That gives me black borders on the sides, but no stretching. I have a 22 inch widescreen LCD.

you have to edit the cfg file that you downloaded. Default value in that cfg file is 1280x1024.

Hope the thread starter does not mind me posting this in here.

At the moment i am using my old 22 in CRT monitor which when i play all my games uses the full screen to display the picture.

If i get a 22 ins wide screen monitor does the games use the whole of the screen height wise or does it show black bands at the top and bottom of the screen. I mean all games not SH3.
Thank you gentlemen in advance

On my system, GF 8800GTS card, the default setting in the drivers were to use the LCD screens, Samsung 22 widescreen, inbuilt scaling. That meant all games were stretched to fit the screen no matter what resolution was set in the game. And with no aspect ratio most games looked stretched, long and/or wide.
But no black borders.

with nVidia cards you can if you want to scale picture or to set black borders. This can be set in nV Control Panel.
