Refitting and Damage
When you refit on a patrol (in a port other than your home port), does it repair all of your damage as well? I have just left port about a day ago from a refit when I noticed one of the valves spraying water like crazy. I had been slightly damaged prior to entering port (darn merchant gunners) but honestly do not remember if that was like that prior (never looked). Nothing is being indicated as damaged even the slightest.
Thanks! Jaber |

From experience, the answer is no. Damage is not repaired. For some reason, my batteries lose the ability to fully recharge everytime an enemy gunner even sneezes at me. I've had to End Patrol at the home port to get the damaged batteries restored.

There is a refit bug - you are "repaired" but when you leave port - at a certain distance the damage reappears. No fix as yet. Hopefully 1.3 will address it.

I haven't checked but this should be added to the list of bugs that need fixing. Not sure if they even know about it yet.

Correct, no repairs. All the torps and ammo you want. Sorry about the hole in the side...your on your own;)

I have had issues with this as well. All damage seems to be fixed visually and under damage control but something is up because my crush depth seems to be set higher afterwards or as soon as I suffer damage, all previous damage seems to jump right back into play.

Where to do a refit
Hi
IMHO a refit should not always result in fixing of all the damage. Taking the example of hull damage, that can only be fixed at a harbour with a dry dock and the proper equipement and specialists. So, a refit at Midway should fix different things than a refit at Pearl Harbour. Second item is that subs of the new classes (Balao and Gato) became available to the different commands at different times in the war. So, is it fair to be able to fix hull damage on a Balao in Brisbane, when that sub class is not yet available in that area? My biggest gripe is that you actually cannot see anywhere in-game how bad the damage is and whether you have any. Or at least I don't know how to see that. yours Arie |
