Sonar working...weird

It's me again with one more question. I had some experience with the seawolf sonar from Sub Command, but today when I tried my hadn with the Seawolf, I found a few thing out of place.
1. Under no circumstance was I able to assign a tracker in the narrowband display(pressing the corresponding button does nothing). I can assign them all right in broadband, but as far as narrowband is concerned, trackers don't seem to exist.
2. When I place the cursor above a signal in either the broadband or the narrowband waterfall, it shoud show info about that particular signal(the tracker assigned to it,or none if none is assigned). Well, instead all i get is the last used tracker. This makes identifying a target extremely hard,as it takes quite some time to realise which contact I am analyzing.
So,anyone encountered this before?

Did some more testing with all 4 submarines.
Broadband seems to work ok on all of them.
Narrowband also works on russian subs, although it appears you have to place the cursor at the exact contact bearing to mark it.
American narrowband however seems to be completely blind. It doesn't recognize trackers assigned in broadband, I can't assign new trackers and it shows SNR 0 even for clear contacts.

I'm not to clear on everything you're describing, but I can say this much:

First, you most certainly can assign trackers in narrowband. The only time this has ever been a problem for me is when the TA is going through a turn. I can't imagine why you haven't been able to assign a tracker in NB. Maybe you had the sim paused, or something wierd like that?

Second, you might be right about BB trackers not showing in NB. I don't know for sure because, despite all my years of playing SC and DW, I always go the other way--first contact on NB, then BB if I need it later (for DEMON). Maybe they didn't set it up for BB trackers to show in NB. But, have you tried the "tracker review" button? That might snap the cursor right to your contact.

To assign tracker to NB you have to put the pointer to a specific frequency line then you click to assign tracker to that specific freqency. Hope this helps

When this happens to me, it is always a whale or shrimp.

You can see them pretty clearly in BB, but if you place yor cursor over the waterfall line, you can hear a distinct sound (whale's singing and shrimp....shrimping? :hmm: :D ), and therefore you can ignore it.

And if you go to NB, no lines are displayed.

Yep. That was it. I was trying to assign contacts in narrowband using the first display(the one showing signal strength vs. bearing). It works ok now. Thank you.

I know no NB lines are displayed for bios, but that has nothing to do with whether the NB station will display trackers that were assigned in BB.

I guess you're right, for the last couple of days I have been playing custom mission FF Gatekeeper by Miika with LWAMI 3.08, and I got a few pretty clear and audible sphere array BB contacts south of my position, but couldn't see them in NB. When I checked TA BB and NB, waterfall and NB frequencies were pretty visible and I classified them very early in the mission.

Thought it was a matter of range and sensitivity of sonar, but those were surface contacts, less than 6 NM from me, and SSP was favorable...they should have been visible in spheric NB :hmm:

Post saved mission ..
but check your frequency range before that

Well, you're still talking about contacts and Dragon and I are talking about trackers. But, I feel I should mention that LW/Ami boosts the BB performance of the SA, so it isn't that unusual to get a BB signal before a NB signal for that array.

Oh, I misunderstood  I'm a bit hasty sometimes.
