will we ever see a SH V ?
 

with the problem in getting a good patch for SHIV, Iam starting to wonder if we will ever see a SHV, a good U-boat sim. So is Ubisoft done with making a U-boat sim?? or any subsim :oops: :oops:

If the ideas suggested by some people of starting legal actions against UBI and boycotting go on, probably we will not see a SH5:hmm:

I think we are witnessing the sinking of the Silent Hunter series right here and now...

I hope not, but this is what I think is happening...

summing up all my infos I'm pretty sure we won't see a SHV from UBI.

Really depends on how they go with SHIV. If they leave it to patch 1.2, there's no point on doing SHV as who would like to buy yet another unfinished Silent Hunter?

What would they use as a theater of operations for a SHV?

And what will it bring to us?
As it was before, ubi will dismiss old group of developers and will form new one :-) which means new bugs and the same story. I don't want SHV, a have SH3 with GWX and may be (I don't know yet) I want working copy of SHIV (I have legal but not working :-().

I just hope that Ubisoft, will make SHV and make it a U-boat sim, if there is no more sims from Ubisoft, I wonder about the health of Subsim. I donot have SHIV on my hard drive and I donnot miss it . :D

Why you are asking for SHV if we have SHIII about u-boots? Game play is excellent, may be graphics not as in SHiV, but as you said "I donnot miss it" :-). If they would made patch 1.5 with enabling AI u-boots, AI torpedoes... uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, it would be great, but it will not happen. Even without this features SHIII is great and as for me SHIV sucks? may be this is tha matter of time?

SHV to me (in an ideal world) = SH3(GWX) + SHIV (patched and working)....combined so the player could play either side in either theatre :rock: :up:

Me, I would personally like to see US/USSR nukes, but given the fact that UBI cannot even patch their product, I have no hopes for SH5...:cry:

IMHO I doubt Ubi will release another in the Silent Hunter series

Having said that whats the point of releasing more if they cant finish the ones they have released

I fully understand ppl wanting to boycott Ubi too
A lot of ppl paid out hard earned money for limited editions etc and we all know how the game is so no point going over it again
While I dont condone the threats of sueing etc I cant for the life of me understand why so many in this forum are against dev bashing in case Ubi drops the sims
They arent doing us a favour
We PAY for their work
And we EXPECT a finished game

Citing other games unfinished is irrelevant too
We are not interested in those
Just the SH series

XXX game was buggy so we shouldnt expect that this one isnt the same

So vote with your pocket and dont buy any more from them
Maybe its the only way they will learn
Yeah I know sub sims are a niche market but sales are sales
And if every player of every genre of game did the same with the half finished ones they would have to take notice and finish the job

How about the heroic early nuclear submarine age :) Nautilus, Sturgeon against Kilo, Foxtrot, Juliets! Man, I miss some of the good ole sims :up:

Even if Ubi doesn't make a SHV, Kpt Lehmann told us that after a lot of work (conversion to SHIV), GWX will run as a SH4 expansion : So IMHO, relax, we can trust the GWX team cause they've never disappointed us. :cool:
