Is 506 000 tonn patrol possible?

I really need your verdict here.

One friend of mine braggs,he had sunk 39 ships,mostly Coalers and T3's for 506 000 tonns during a month long patrol in February- March 1944 with his Type IXD2.

Is that possible?:o

it is absolutely possible...

on the arcade like realism settings.

You would have to have duds turned off... average one sinking per torpedo with 100% accuracy (point and shoot option) you would have to run across an unescorted merchant fleet of dozens of massive ships. Never miss with a SINGLE deck gun round. and have easy targetting settings turned on where you just point and get an instant solution.

Your friend is probably playing sh3 vanilla on somwhere between zero and ten percent realism.

some of our more experienced Keleuns on subsim playing on 100% realism are lucky to bag even 40K+ tons per some patrols... but your friend claims a career worth of tonnage in a 30 day patrol in the most difficult years of U-boating. highly unlikely.

I would invite him to prove his claims using even 80%+ realism :rotfl:

What realism level he's playin on? To me 0% realism is the number u need to get to like that much tons.

He is playing in 100 percent stock realism and plus shot 39 planes during that patrol!He even says having log file,proving that.He is lying,obviously.

He says,that "Revenge" Class Battleship can be sunk with just one torpedo,if it explodes just below front turret on magnetic detonator...He makes me angry,really angry...:nope:

Thanks guys,for really cheering me up.The matter is,I find stock SH3 very challenging at even 35 % realism,and 35 000 tonn patrol is a real achivement,while I master my skills.Good Hunting Kaleuns! :D :up:

Tell him to play on NYGM or GWX and sink that much ships and planes, and see the diff between stock and modded SH3.

Stock vs GWX? No contest. I would certainly like to see the difference. :yep:

It is possible to sink Rodney with one magnetic -- the monster came at me twice. Both times I fired a salvo of two. One missed and one hit --first one exploded somewhere under the bridge and the whole ship blew up and sank in less than a minute. In the second incident, the torpedo hit under turret 3. The ship was sinking very slowly but was stationary. After 3 hours waiting, I gave it an impact fish because I had another contact. Rodney sank quickly after that.
