U-boat by Lerwick?
 

I dont recall where this went when i originally asked a while back...

but i have found a U-boat north of Lerwick sitting silent and stationary at about 30 or 40 meters depth in GWX... anyone know why this guy is out there?

I remember there was another thread about this.

Apparently he is supposed to be moving doing orbits.

I'm wondering why other U boats in wolfpacks can only be on the surface, yet this contact is able to be submerged at that depth?

they have to be on the surface because they cannot engage any enemy ships unless they use their surface armaments. (no AI torps)

i started the thread a while back, someone said they would look into it but i dont recall ever getting an asnwer about it.

he is doing orbits around the north end of lerwick... but im wondering why - you cant hear him on hydrophones, and he is submerged so you cant see him, all you can get is the contact report and if you use the external cam is the only way to see him which i did a while back... i am on 100% and dont have the cam on now but i passed directly over the contact report sub symbol and it reminded me "Oh this guy again - wonder what point there is to having him here?"

so thought i would ask again ;)

oh ok... so i take it he was placed in GWX to serve some purpose but he doesnt appear to be doing it and it will be fixed in the next release but we cannot know what the u-boat is going to be doing up there until we find it ourselves
