GWX Features?

I have played SH3 in the past frequently and have recently got into SH4 but the little bit that I have heard of GWX sounds pretty interesting like it might be more in line with what I am looking for. Is there a list of features so that I can make a more informed decision.

Regards,

Brett

And of couse have a look through the manual online

Pretty Impressive mod.

I do have a few quick questions...

1) I have a AMD x2 4200 with 2 GB of RAM and an ATI 1650XT 512 MB can I expect to get good results with the 16K viewing distance

2) I thought I had read somwhere that the convoys in GWX implement zig-zagging across the convoy route. Is this true or do they simply go into a constant helming mode once an attack is detected

3) One feature I like with SH4 is they seem to have implemented the TC very well in that you can be in a relatively high rate of TC 512 and won't typically have a destroyer pop up 1000m from you. SH3 was ploblematic in this regards. Is this still a concern with GWX

Any insight is appreciated.

Regards,

Brett

You will have no problems at all. If your PC can handle SH3 it can handle GWX as well.

The ships do zig-zag along thier course once you're detected. This is what they did in reality as well.

I am not 100% sure as I didn't play SH4 but I have no problems with High TC in GWX.

Yes, this is true. The scripted convoys routes contain regular changes in course, or zig zag. They will also conduct evasion measures when a threat is detected, this will end once the threat is over.

Mel has covered the rest.

Another convert as from SH4 to SH3? :)
I think some of the people are just waiting for SH4 1.3 patch, that's all :) SH3 had to go through the same path if I'm not mistaken

I don't know if I would list myself as a convert quite yet, but I will say the documentation looks pretty impressive and professional. On the surface I can say that both seem to have some pretty good features. I really like the "intimate nature" of the south pacific with the numerous straits and islands along with the numerous task forces which always add to the excitement and of course the graphics are nothing short of fantastic. GWX appears to have some pretty attrative realism options (grey icons, longer visual range, zig-zagging convoys and improved graphics on vanilla SH3 to name a few) that should make it pretty challenging. Considering that I haven't loadedit yet I can't call myself a convert. It would be nice to see this kind of effort go into SH4 though once the final patching is done.
