All Stop
:hmm: Hi All
Could someone tell me if i'm missing something, no matter which way i load a saved game, through the main interface or through the office we always come to an all stop, can we do something to change this as it's really a pain, or am i missing a reason for it, it did'nt happen with SH3 so i think it is a step backwards. Thanks in advance for any light on the matter Jeff |
You're doing nothing wrong...
I, too, hate this bug. :shifty: |
Its not a bug its a feature.
Not only you are at full stop you are no longer following a plotted course. Best action Ive seen is to wait a few moments while the computer settles down switch to map and order follow course. Adust speed to suit your needs. Looks like they dident bother to put these values into the save game file so it looks like were stuck with it. |
I thought this did happen in SH3? At least, that's how I remember it....
But yes, it is annoying, especially when you go to high TC without remembering to reset your speed/course. "Wow! Look at the gas mileage!" |
I don't see it as a bug... I like it actually... The next day when you load the game, you have to look at the map, remember what was going etc... Full stop gives some time to think instead of rushing things :smug:

Yeah, there are plenty of worse things to annoy me with this game. I just hit "resume course" and adjust speed. No big deal.

The point i'm trying to make is, from sh1 through to 4 ( and i've been through them all ) is that the game is supposed to get better and better, it has, but if you remember the problem's we had with loading times with 3 which was a big thing, then all of a sudden were waisting time going through, starting a new career, then having to delete it then loading your own save, which i think and still say is a step backwards instead of forwards, the sh3 interface was fine, why change it, anyway, as for 3 being the same way i think we will agree to disagree jeff |

In SH3 and SH4 it is not a good idea to save submerged, around ships. in port or in combat. It can and does produce bad saves were you can not load it again. Best to wait out the attack and get the four perimeters above before you save. I'm not saying there will always be a bad save but you have the potential to get one. |

Point taken, but it should'nt happen, (another story though ), the SH series has come along way, (for the better i might add ), i love this game but again the point is that minor things (as some ppl say ) should not happen when most of these faults where sorted in previous games, " ie " ( slight difference of opinion here ) loading game in sh3 you kept your speed, you kept your course, you did'nt have to start new game then delete to get to the office to keep your settings, i could go on for a bit longer but you'll get bored, improved game by UBI, i think not, IMO the reason this game is so good is because of our great modders, and IMO if anybody thinks differnt then i give up, (that is saying my bit,) not the game of course, because at the end of the day the modders will get most things working o.k, this is the last i will say on the subject and hope we get patch 1.3 |
