cant fire torps!

this is really frustrating i came accross a troop transport i saved the game sent all the targeting info, the firing solution is green target, its within 1000 yards? (non meteric), im new to the manual tdc but i checked everything and it simply wont let me fire my torps!

AVGWarhawk 05-15-07 03:08 PM

You are starting the game with the disc, yes?

SingeDebile 05-15-07 03:15 PM

yes and i tested my manual tdc skills on a training mission with no problems

AVGWarhawk 05-15-07 03:21 PM

Hmmmmmm:hmm:...sounds like a bad save to me if the torps are firing in the sub schools.

This ain't a joke. But did you make sure to reload your torps in port? In the campaign, you have to do that. If you're trying to fire from a single mission, disregard.

Good point, forgot about that little ditty.

SingeDebile 05-15-07 03:33 PM

thanks but it was the first patrol of a career... (full torps)

AVGWarhawk 05-15-07 03:44 PM

I'm at a loss. Have you played other careers? No mods you just installed?

Bilge_Rat 05-15-07 05:18 PM

What key/button press are you using?

with 1.2, I believe clicking the onscreen torpedo fire button no longer works. (I always press ENTER)

If you are using the Keyboard Function Mod, torpedo firing is changed to CTRL+ENTER

MaxT.dk 05-15-07 05:28 PM

The onscreen torpedo fire button works just perfect on SH4 patched to v1.2

t0maz 05-15-07 06:39 PM

It is no-dvd crack related - return to your orginal exe (patched to 1.2)

9th_cow 05-15-07 07:46 PM

it is copy protection related, not crack related a bad crack wont get past the protection, but it is the protection that causes this issue.
and the copy protection can be triggered by many things. not just cracks.

as it stands there are 2 ways to play this game without the disk and without any interferance what so ever from the protection.

so either all the pirates these days are thick, or retail users are beggining to find problems with they're legal games due to copy protection, now where have we heard that before.

if the people who have these issues are all pirates. and they can find, download and install the game. why cant they find the working crack?

there is a small (:)) chance that the people who cant get the game working are the casual gamers who put the disk in and wait for it to start.not the pirates, who know all the tricks of the trade and wouldnt be in here asking you for help anyway.

and yes i do have the legal retail game :) i pay for what i play. and i like to play online, + the recognition manual comes in handy. although i wont ever listen to that music disk....

in short, he might not be using a crack, so dont always assume, to say the protection is flawless is in itself a little bit crazy.
it will cause problems for honest people aswell.
and the sad thing is that for them theyre only hope would be a crack. wich beats the protection :damn:
its a funny old world.

im just saying btw, because when anyone at all has any kind of problem the first thing ppl say is, use the real disk...
well they used to say that about starforce and securerom too.

I have Hoed this road already

I Concur with your comments, I made a huge post in here about the Item of which we dare not speak, and the game play and was shut down and the thread was locked without consideration to the US Constitutional 1 st amendment guarantees. If this is going to be an open forum then all items of interest must be discused from time to time.
I made a second post yesterday about the Issues with the game and Multiplay.
I did a clean Install of the game, administered the v1.2 patch with out the Item of which we dare not speak for fear of being sensored, and attemped to play a multiplayer test game.
The result was a game crash to the desktop when attempting to use the the deck gun.
So, being a little methodical I applied the Item of which we dare not speak to see if the results would change.
The result was a crash to the desktop when attempting to use said deck gun.
So I made a post about it, and added my system spec's, I was told I had two sound card drivers installed, and I know I do because of the motherboard chipset drivers uses them for various things.
So not to discard this kind Gents observations I said, " HEY " !
I'll uninstall the drivers and run the game.
So Nvidia sound drivers went bye bye and I played a test game, it was the same up until I shot the deck gun or the machine gun.
Crash back to the deck top.
So I agree with you , there are issues here beyond the Item of which we dare not speak of for fear of sensorship.
It must be something within the Sim itself, and I do buy all my games aswell, I use the Item of which we dare not speak of to save wear and tear on my disks as I have Children , and they are rough on game disks.

I feel your pain it runs deep

PS Cow

I was lost in my tyrate while feeling your pain, but I too had the same issue with my Sim, I would be assigned to drop a spy into a base, and was unable to fire my torpedos while in Japanese waters, but as soon as I dropped the spy off, left the Jap waters, I was able to fire them, and I would turn around and go back and sink a bunch of merchants, have you experianced anything like this ?
